“Your body has been with you through every experience of your life, and holds your whole history, stories and truth – it’s wiser and smarter than your mind and holds profound insights that your mind has forgotten, hasn’t pieced together yet, or chooses to ignore.”

What is Yoga Therapy?

Yoga Therapy is a therapeutic process which draws upon the vast treasures of Yoga to support your innate healing and journey towards improved health and wellbeing. You do not need to have any prior experience of Yoga to come to a Yoga Therapy session as I am able to meet you where you are and will create a safe and non-judgmental environment where we can explore together in an enquiring way.

How can Yoga Therapy help you?

Yoga therapy can help to support you with a myriad of symptoms and conditions through the application of specific Yoga techniques. These can help to bring relief to physical and neurological symptoms, relieve stress, support positive mental health, and create an opportunity for greater wellbeing. What will happen in a session?

We start with your intention and from here I will serve as your guide and witness as you explore and journey into the realm of self-discovery through connecting to your own somatic wisdom, your own innate sense of embodied knowing.

Sessions can include any of the vast array of offerings we have from the tradition of yoga, we can incorporate asana, pranayama, mudras, mantras, meditation, savasana and elements of yoga philosophy to name a few. What we utilise will depend solely upon your intention, and so sessions may also include techniques from other therapeutic modalities and incorporate elements from both physical therapy and psychotherapy, such as tapping and shaking, simply moving and making shapes with the body, breath work and mindfulness practices. Our treasure chest is vast and abundant.

In Yoga Therapy sessions you may start off with one intention, but what you will discover is so much more. Sessions will conclude with us integrating your experience and finding practical and meaningful ways to bring this new knowledge and experience to your daily life.

As your guide there are times when I may suggest and lead practices which will be useful for you and other times where I will support you to explore an organic embodied practise which allows you to connect to your inner wisdom. Through this somatic, body felt experience you will be able to draw upon and process both conscious and unconscious patterns of being which affect your physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. I invite you to allow this process to bring an external expression of your ever unfolding inner landscape and to explore with curiosity, openness, and joy. Ultimately, I am serving to empower you to come to know and experience your true self.

My invitation to you is to step into your vulnerability and courage with an open heart, and I will meet you there with compassion and deep listening.

“Rebekah is an amazing therapist, just her essence and nature relax and sooth you. She identified when I was strong and when I was feeling emotions through observations of my movement. Her insight into my deeper locked emotions and the use of a variety of techniques gave me an opportunity to release embodied trauma I have carried for so long; I really feel free of some of the barriers in my life now.”

“By the end of my course of sessions I was feeling much more confident in my own abilities, in listening to my own wisdom and in being able to express myself more fully than I have previously had the courage to do”

I’ve been left with a beautiful sense of peace and stillness following today’s session. I felt really comfortable sharing my thoughts with you, I felt seen and heard. I love that we’re co-creating these sessions and that you’re up for the challenge of helping me face my challenges.

The trauma that has been feeling so locked within my body has been released to a large extent and I feel that I’ve entered a new phase in my relationship with it.

I felt very safe and very held and completely free to be myself without fear of judgement. Each week Rebekah checked in with me and we co-created our sessions. Her reflection back to me and also the way she gave me feedback during the session made it clear that I had been heard and understood. I also felt a high level of intuition at play, Rebekah was able to skilfully anticipate where I might need a little encouragement or further exploration.

Rebekah is extremely skilled and her experience and wisdom and love for what she does shines through in her practice. She’s very intuitive and also brings great sensitivity to her work. The whole process felt like we were building something together – Rebekah was able to let me bring my own sense of how I needed to move to each session whilst also knowing when I would benefit from guidance or extra input.
